Last weekend was a bit uneventful. It actually started kind of disappointing, because in the very morning I did 2 things that I want to never do. I bailed on a friend and I was too lazy to get out of the house (to go to an apple fest). On Sunday we had friends over. It was a cool evening and we lit our fall candles, ate a hearty potato soup with warm biscuits and then pumpkin cookies for dessert. A fine welcome to the beautiful season that is Fall.
The weekend before last, however, was much more eventful and a lot of fun. The type of fun...
when you eat brunch with favorite friends and when that brunch includes crepes and Russian sweetened condensed milk ... hashtag sugar coma ...
when one toddler is very happy because she can dip her fingers in whip cream when the adults are too busy interacting
when your town has a big block party with food trucks and a concert and you almost lose your 2-year-old in the crowds because she is just not afraid of being around strangers and couldn't care less whether her parents are following her around or not
when you are brave enough to go out to dinner with friends and with the babies, one of whom is due to go night-night and the other is about to get hungry
when your hungry baby actually sleeps through the entire dinner
when at the restaurant the above mentioned 2-year-old strikes a conversation with a table nearby and shows them her quesadilla and how she chews it and swallows it, and then proceeds to lift up her dress to show the strangers that her food went to her tummy
That type of fun.
* And I just now realized there are no pictures of Leo. He yet again overslept all the fun.
