Today I'm a full time working mama of one. In just 2 months I will be a stay-at-home mama of two (for at least some time). So life is really about to change. I thought a few months from now, I will find it interesting to reminisce on my "easy life":), so I decided to depict a very typical day. Nothing spectacular, a day just like any other at this stage of life.
6:00 Alarm sounds, but I get up a couple of snoozes later. And of course no time for shower.

Well, hello there, 3rd trimester bump.
6:45-7:00 I make my usual toast and scrambled eggs for breakfast and enjoy it until someone starts making noises in her room. I usually hear things like: "Hi, Elmo and baby." or "Mommy, I need milky!" I give her a bottle and she drinks it in her crib. We like giving her milk first thing in the morning, because on week days it holds her through until breakfast at daycare (which we pack), and on weekends it gives us a few extra minutes to stay in bed.
Sleepy monster:)
7:15 Together we go wake up daddy. They snuggle for a few minutes, little girly jumps on the bed, and then daddy starts getting her ready for the day, while I do my hair and get dressed.
7:45ish If we are lucky (or if mommy has an 8 o'clock meeting), we are out the door. We have a few minutes to take a picture or two and jump in the puddle, before we get in the car and leave.
8:20 I've dropped off Annika at daycare, got gas on the way AND made a Starbucks stop before getting to work ON TIME. I set up for the day and successfully forget to take pictures until after work.
4:15 I pick up Annika from daycare and we head to the grocery store to pick up a few things. It's so much more fun to do groceries with her, because she behaves. That is until "the bribe" aka raisins runs out. <<< beware, iPhone photo below>>>
5:00 We get home, unload groceries, and go outside for a little bit.
Daddy's tulips are looking pretty.
5:30 We go back inside when it starts raining and do some drawing and painting.
6:30 Daddy gets home, we all get ready to go out to dinner with Oma and Opa, who are leaving town for a couple of weeks. Mommy's flats get the boot (pun intended:)) in favor of heels, and we head out the door.
7:00-9:00 I successfully forget my camera at home, so there are no pictures from the dinner. But who am I kidding, I probably wouldn't have had a chance to take any, what with a little crazy at the table...
9:30 It's a late night for the bunny (bedtime is 7:30-8:00 usually). Daddy gives her a quick bath and puts her to bed, while I prepare some things for dinner with friends tomorrow night and clean up the house a little bit.
Cranky pants is definitely ready for bed.
Shish-kebobs to be...
And a little surprise for mom in the dish-washer...
After it's clean(ish) and quiet, Greg and I usually relax with a movie, but tonight we are both tired. I respond to a few emails, and Greg watches some Netflix show. We are both in bed by 10:30ish. Oh, the glamorous Friday night life of parents...
*I intended to take a lot more pictures, but it just didn't work out... And I will remember it that way - too busy to take pictures. I doubt that will change:)*

I love how u get up earlier then Annika and have time for yourself - I did it only 2 or 3 times in 2,4 years we have Sofia :) but I enjoy the evenings for myself and hubby, as she usually goes to bed early
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tanechka! I get up before her just on weekdays. And on weekends I always pray she sleeps just a liiiiitle bit longer, so I can sleep in too:) Our evenings are nice too, because she goes to bed around 8 and we have a couple of hours to ourselves. Oh those kids, right???
Deleteочень хороший и интересный день! :)
ReplyDeleteпонравилась идея про вставание по очереди. :)
